Greek Investor Pulse 2026: The New Greek Investor
More than 8 in 10 Greek investors are in profit with an average return of 21.1%. One in five now holds Greek stocks.

Athens, 21 October 2026
One year after its official launch in Greece, Wealthyhood publishes “The New Greek Investor 2026”, a data-driven portrait of who Greece’s new investors are, what they buy and how they behaved when markets fell.
Wealthyhood today publishes Greek Investor Pulse 2026: The New Greek Investor, a report marking one year since the company’s official launch in Greece in October 2025. Based on anonymised, aggregated data from Wealthyhood clients resident in Greece, the report finds that within three months of Greek stocks becoming available on the app in July 2026, more than one in five investors already held Greek stocks or ETFs. Meanwhile, more than 8 in 10 investors are in profit, with a typical annualised return of 21.1%.
In its first year in Greece, Wealthyhood has passed 35,000 registered users and 200,000 executed orders. With Greek Investor Pulse, the company brings real data into the public conversation about retail participation in capital markets, aiming to contribute to a more informed investment culture in Greece. The findings describe an investor base far broader than the traditional image of the Greek investor, with a long-term horizon.
More than 8 in 10 in profit, 21.1% return on average!
82.8% of investors who have been investing for at least three months are in profit, with a typical annualised return of 21.1%. The share in profit rises to 91.2% among long-term investors who hold mostly ETFs (typical return 20.8% a year) and to 91.5% among long-term users of Autopilot, Wealthyhood’s regular automated investing (21.3% a year).
Investors who made fewer moves achieved higher returns: those with three orders or fewer and no sales achieved a typical return of 23.3% a year, against 18.5% for those who placed 50 or more orders. Almost half of investors (45%) have never sold an investment, and 86% of those who started at least six months ago are still investing.
“For years, investing in Greece was seen as something for the few: people with a lot of money and years of experience. Our data says otherwise. The typical new investor is 34 and starts with €100.
What stands out for me is what happened after July. Within three months of bringing Greek stocks to Wealthyhood, one in five investors already held Greek stocks or ETFs, with a handful of the companies becoming some of the most popular stocks of the entire year. The interest in the Greek market was always there. What was missing was a simple, affordable way to invest in it.
The second lesson is patience. More than 8 in 10 Wealthyhood investors are in profit, and those who made the fewest moves did better than those who traded the most. Markets will not always be this favourable, but the habits we see (small amounts, ETFs, regular investing, staying calm in a sell-off) are the foundations of long-term investing. Our goal is for this data to contribute to a more informed investment culture in Greece. And this is only the first edition.”

What they buy: from the S&P 500 to NVIDIA and SpaceX
Investors bought 2,288 different stocks and ETFs in a single year. The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF is the most popular investment: 28% of investors hold it, and it was the first investment for almost one in five new investors (18%). 56% started with an ETF, and almost half (47.5%) hold only ETFs.
NVIDIA is the stock bought by the most investors (27.9%) and the top stock for every generation, from Gen Z to Boomers. Amazon, Alphabet, SpaceX and Microsoft follow. Among the themes of the year, around one in five investors held AI and semiconductor investments in every quarter, while, beyond Greek stocks and banks, space and defence recorded the biggest rise: from 3% of investors at the end of 2025 to 8% in September 2026.
The return to the Athens Stock Exchange
Greek stocks became available on Wealthyhood in mid-July 2026, and the response was immediate:
- One in five in three months: By October 2026, more than 20% of investors held Greek stocks or ETFs. Since mid-July, 38% of investors who made a purchase chose at least one Greek stock or ETF, rising to 43% among new investors.
- One in five euros: 21% of the money invested since July went to Greek stocks and ETFs, even though investors have access to thousands of international stocks and ETFs.
- PPC among the stocks of the year: Since July, the Alpha ETF FTSE Athex Large Cap and PPC were the 5th and 6th most bought of all stocks and ETFs. In just three months, PPC became the 8th most popular stock of the entire year, with Metlen in 10th place.
- Almost the whole market: Investors bought shares in 109 of the 129 companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange (Euronext Athens). The share of investors holding bank stocks rose from 2.3% on 30 June to 9.4% on 30 September 2026, mainly through Greek banks.
Over the year, the Greek stock market ETF was also the second-largest source of investors’ gains, after the S&P 500 ETF.
