Key Information Document (KID)

A Key Information Document (KID) is a standardised, easy-to-understand document that provides essential information about a financial product, such as an investment fund, ETF, or structured product.

KIDs are designed to help investors compare and understand the risks, costs, and potential returns of different financial products before making an investment decision. KIDs are required by the European Union's Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (PRIIPs) regulation. 📄🔑

For example, an investor considering buying shares in an ETF would review the KID to understand the ETF's objectives, risk profile, costs, and past performance.

Fun fact: The KID is typically no more than three pages long, aiming to provide a concise yet comprehensive overview of the financial product. This brevity is intended to make it easier for investors to absorb and compare the most crucial information among various investment options. 📚✅
